Monti and her adopted baby, Anggung, are more bonded than ever, and Monti is showing very strong mothering instincts and skills.
Currently this adorable duo are housed on the University Island, and staff from IAR have been monitoring their progress carefully. Monti has been teaching Anggung everything she knows, including showing the youngster how to build a nest, and encouraging her to taste and try different forest fruits.
It is hoped that the bond between this pair will continue to strengthen, and that Monti will continue to share her knowledge with Anggung as she grows. Naturally, female babies will stay with their mothers for 10-12 years and learn how to raise another infant. We hope Anggung will have this opportunity, and with a fantastic role model in Monti, we are confident this will be achieved.
